Weekly Skating Technique Training for Hockey Players
Profile
This is a small-group, customized skating program for hockey players running from September through December. The program focuses entirely on revisiting hockey skating fundamentals and eliminating inefficiencies. Key areas of focus include skating stance, balance, edges, forward/backward strides, crossovers, starts, and stops.
Objectives
To help players learn and apply fundamental skating mechanics, including:
Body positioning and spatial awareness
Weight distribution and power transfer
Force production, leg drive, and rapid recovery
Full extension, follow-through, and on-ice flow
LOGISTICS
Quota: 8 players (maximum)
Age Groups: U11 to U15
Instructors: Claudia Steinke, Sean Gillam
Location: Cavendish Arena, Lethbridge, Alberta
Dates: Wednesday mornings September 9th to December 9th (no skating September 30th or November 11th).
Times: 0615-0715
